Sept 11th

Had a great day today. Polly Hattie and I went to Richmond Championship Show at losely House near Guilford. Hattie was first up in junior and managed to behave impecably stood like a rock and moved with all four feet on the ground. She was placed 2nd in a nice class so I was very pleased with her. polly was then in limit up with the big girls now and she was placed 5th which was really pleasing as its her first card in that class. The weather behaved and the setting is beautiful. A good day all round.

Sept 4th

Polly, Hattie, and I made the trip to Stonleigh for the City of Birmingham champ show and as it was only about a 2hr journey it was almost local for us. It was a 9.00am start in the ring so we left at 6.30am not too bad. Hattie was placed 4th in her junior class and alas Polly was unplaced but she is still finding her feet in with the big girls.

Went to the Suffolk KA oopen show today. Only Hattie was ready so the 2 of us set off not too early as the show ground was fairly local. It was a bit chilly and very windy but H attie won her junior class and was RBOB' In the AV gundog class she was placed 2nd so we had a good day especially as the wind made her more than a bit lively.

Today it was Baxters turn to shine. He was going to take the test to gain the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award. We went to the local dog training club field' Luckily it was a lovely day. There were 8 of us taking the test which was basically to show the dog has good manners and would do as he was told. The test included elements like allowing the owner to examine the dogs ears, eyes, paws, teeth and tail. walking to heel on a loose lead, walking to heel past distractions, sit, stay for 1 minute waiting to go through a gate until told. All of which Baxter did immaculately. He passed the test with flying colours and we are now working towards the silver award.

The SESSS club open show today. I'm on the committee so we had an early start in the pouring ran. Both Polly and Haqttie were ready and raring to go. The show was at New Haw in Surrey which is a smashing venue. Having helped in the kitchen it was Hattie's turn first in the ring. She had the wind up her tail today but still managed a VHC in special yearling a 2nd in maiden and a 3rd in novice however when she went in to challenge for best puppy the excitment overtook her and she bounced like Tigger. It was then Polly's turn she and the star got a 1st in post grad and a second in limit. It was a really enjoyable day and we won some prize money as well.

Took Hattie to our local ringcraft tonight for the monthly match. She behaved reasonably well and was Best Puppy in Match so we floated home.
